IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE THROUGH COLLABORATIVE WRITING STRATEGY

The objective of this research is to improve students’ achievement in writing descriptive through collaborative writing. This was conducted at SMP Negeri 28 Medan academic year 2018-2019 as the subject researcher. consisted 35 students eighth grade. with classroom action research. by dividing into two cycles 6 meeting for each. sources data were qualitative and quantitative. collected observation sheets, questionnaires diary notes. Quantitative taken from tests, carried out end every cycle. Based on result analysis there an improvement text each After doing test cycle I, mean 72.8 24 who got successful score criteria above 70 or it 69 % 11 unsuccessful 31 %. Then, done second after reflection first cycle, 77.9 89 4 In other words, improved. And based questionnaire notes, documentation, showed that expression excitement also
